In 1982 the mayor of Key West declared the the Florida Keys to be an independent nation called The Conch Republic. Although always a tongue-in-cheek proclamation intended to ridicule rather than revolutionize, it proved to be a highly effective "government". Join Dawn and guest, comedian, Forrest Shaw, as they walk the historic trail to Margaritaville and beyond.
Joining Dawn for the HILF-ing of the Conch Republic is Florida native, comedian, and former Marine Biologist, Forrest Shaw. He currently performs stand-up around the world, and is the co-host of the podcast, I don’t Know About That with Jim Jeffries.
